El Sol De Mexico

We found this quaint place by accident. We were sightseeing in Kerrville by the riverfront and I spotted a nice chevy square body and when I turned around at the next block and drove up to it I noticed it was a Mexican restaurant. Best Mexican restaurant in town... plus the Beauty was for sale by the owner of the restaurant and had Mexican wrestling mask for sale which we bought for our grandsons that are wrestling fanatics...

We got the super nachos and the taco salad. Both were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere and the music were very pleasant, and the service was phenomenal. The owner came out to check on us more than once and he even gave us a tamale to try that his wife had just made! If we didn't live 6 hours away, we would be back weekly for sure. This place is a gem.

Found this gem by mistake. Best mistake ever made. All food prepared freshly. Home made type thick chips. Chili relleno was huge and wife's plate had a puffy taco,tamale,and enchilada. Best tamale ever. This place will blow anywhere else out of the water. Was even given a free Guacamole and management felt took to long to deliver our food. This is a must go back to place.

Great food cooked to order. Everything was very fresh. Fantastic salsa! You tell it was made that morning. We had the chili rellano and puffy taco. Both were tasty and very flavorful.

Door Dash delivery, but the food was really good. We had 3 Crispy Tacos plate, Combination Dinner plate with Chicken enchiladas, crispy beef taco, pork tamale with rice and beans. I love tamales this time of year and their tamales are delicious!

Great tex-mex fare with a patio for outdoor dining. They have a very good burger in addition to standard favorites like the Mexican plate, enchiladas and tacos. They also have a full bar

Stumbled onto this place. Loved the experience. I asked for extra cheese and they delivered. The food was so good and the service from the young man that served us was fantastic! Will eat here again when we are in the area.

We stopped at this quaint restaurant based on very good reviews, and it was as good as indicated in the reviews. This place is on a whole different level as a total dining experience. It is very clean, well laid out, with very attractive decor. The service was very attentive, even refilling the fresh-made Lemonade and fresh-made Horchata we had, without having to be asked. Both drinks were great, and I’ve never had better Horchata. I had grilled tilapia and shrimp, with a salad and fries. It had two large tilapia filets and six pieces of shrimp. The seasoning on both was flavorful and the tilapia was nice and flaky. My wife had cheese enchiladas, rice & beans. She said the enchiladas were the best she’s had in a long time. The main difference between this place and other good Mexican restaurants is that it seems like everything here is made fresh here. The salsa and chips are made fresh. The guacamole came in a large bowl and was as good as it gets, and the same for the pico de gallo; made with all fresh ingredients, served in a large bowl, and was delicious. We will definitely make El Sol a regular place to eat.
